Thousands of People Gather Downtown for Cards and Blues Games

Due to games at the Scottrade Center and Busch Stadium, the media released a report estimating that about 66,000 people would be in the downtown St. Louis area today. The St. Louis Cardinals and Blues are both playing this evening, matches that are expected to cause major traffic jams and potentially some accidents. There are also more expected visitors than there are parking spaces.

According to the KSDK report,

There are about 47,000 parking spots available in downtown St. Louis, with some additional private parking. Your best bet for parking Wednesday night downtown is to carpool with several of your closest friends or take MetroLink.

Any time there are major sporting events, concerts, etc. in the downtown area, people should expect traffic delays. Visitors to the downtown St. Louis area should also take extra precautions to avoid getting involved in traffic and other types of accidents.

Sporting events, especially those that draw crowds of this magnitude, should be monitored by stadium security to discourage criminal activity as well as unnecessary slip and fall-type accidents. If you or someone you care about was injured while attending Wednesday’s Cards or Blues game, you may be able to take legal action to recover financial compensation.
