An eight-car pileup near Lake Ozark, MO leaves two women dead and four others injured. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the accident happened on U.S. 54 at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9th when a tractor-trailer rear-ended a smaller car, which caused a chain reaction crash involving another big rig, two cars, two SUVs, a van, and a pickup truck.

The two women, identified as Robin Dinwiddie, 50, and her daughter, 27-year-old Kenda O’Leary, were pronounced dead on the scene. Four other people, including the first truck driver, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that ranged from minor to serious.
Patrol spokesman Cpl. Scott White said the truck driver, a 62-year-old man from Illinois, was arrested and faces two counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of careless and imprudent driving.

Taking Immediate Action is Important

It is important to act quickly if you or a loved one has been involved in a truck accident, whether the accident concerns a tractor-trailer, an 18-wheeler, a big rig, or another commercial truck.
As soon as a commercial truck is involved in a collision, the trucking company is notified, and will usually head to the accident scene immediately.

Experienced defendants, such as national trucking companies know this. They also are very adept at how they should act immediately following an accident so that their liability will be minimized.
