Despite fewer drivers on Missouri roads due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak and springtime stay-at-home orders, Missouri state troopers say they have seen a three percent increase in traffic fatalities for the year. Data from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show there were 174 deaths as of April 5^th, compared with 168 deaths in the same time frame in 2019.

In downtown St. Louis, two people were killed when their vehicle struck an interstate overpass on Highway 44.
Two pedestrians walking on a sidewalk at the intersection of Kienlen and Evanston avenues in Wellston were fatally struck when a car veered onto the sidewalk to avoid a collision with another car.
